Soulbound ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Get Soulbound Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application, our website, and related services (the "Service").

1. Who We Are

Soulbound is operated by Get Soulbound Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, age, and location (city or approximate area) you provide during registration.

Profile information: photos, bio, matching path preference (Harmony or Growth), relationship status and seeking type, gender and gender preference, age range preferences, and matching radius.

Soul profile data: love language, attachment style, emotional depth, growth edge, core wound, values, personality type, and Soul Card — derived from your AI-guided Soul Interview.

Soul Interview conversation: the messages exchanged during your Soul Interview. We store these so you can resume across devices and so our AI can generate and refine your Soul Profile. You can delete it at any time by deleting your account.

Voice recordings (if you choose voice input): if you opt to speak your Soul Interview answers, your audio is streamed in real time to a speech-to-text provider for transcription. The transcribed text is treated the same as typed text. Audio is not stored on our servers after transcription completes.

Messages: text messages exchanged with matched users.

Intentions: icebreaker messages you send to express interest in matches.

Location data: if you grant permission, we collect approximate GPS coordinates to calculate distance to potential matches. You may also provide a city manually; GPS is optional. Coordinates are stored only to the precision needed for distance-based matching.

Subscription and purchase information: membership status (active, lapsed, or founding), membership tier, purchase history for the Soul Interview, membership, and SoulGuide session credits, transaction identifiers, and renewal/cancellation events. Payment details themselves are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card number.

Founding member status: a flag on your account indicating whether you joined during our beta period and are eligible for our permanent founding-member rate.

Session credit balance and ledger: your current balance of SoulGuide session credits and a record of each credit you've purchased, redeemed, or had adjusted.

SoulGuide session data: coaches you've booked, session types (text or video), session status, scheduled times, and any notes you provide when booking.

Device information: push notification tokens, device type, operating system version, and app build number.

Usage data: app interactions, screen views, and feature usage — used for crash reporting, product improvement, and analytics.

4. AI and Your Data

Soulbound uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) for exactly two purposes:

Your Soul Interview — a guided conversation that maps your psychological profile. Your conversation is stored securely on our servers so you can resume across devices and so our AI can generate and refine your Soul Profile. You can delete it at any time by deleting your account.

Match Compatibility Explanations — when you view a match, AI generates a personalized explanation of your compatibility. This uses only the Soul Profile data (not raw interview text) of both users.

We do not use AI to read your messages, analyze your chat behavior, or make decisions about your account. We do not train AI models on your data.

5. How We Share Your Information

With matched users: your name, age, photos, bio, compatibility score, and relevant Soul Profile insights are shared with users you are matched with. Messages you send to a match remain visible to that match even if you later delete your account.

With SoulGuide coaches: when you book a session, the coach you book with receives your name, session type, scheduled time, and any notes you provide. Coaches do not receive your Soul Profile or match history.

With service providers:

These providers process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.

We never sell your personal data to third parties.

We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

6. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Soulbound offers:

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Subscription renewals, cancellations, and refunds are managed through your Apple ID account settings. Founding member status is tied to your Soulbound account and remains active as long as your subscription does not lapse for more than 30 days.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies so users can only access their own data or data shared through the matching system. Photos are stored in secure cloud storage with user-scoped access controls.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

Deletion is irreversible and typically completes within 30 days.

Messages you sent to matched users remain visible in their conversation history after your account deletion — we cannot remove data from accounts that are not yours.

Transaction records (purchase history, subscription events, credit ledger entries) may be retained beyond account deletion for tax, accounting, and legal compliance. These records are de-identified from your personal profile after deletion.

10. Age Requirement

Soulbound is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and data.

11. International Users

Soulbound is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
